Accommodation

This award-winning property is the closest you get to live in a typical ‘Himachali’ home in Shimla. This eco-resort sits bang in the middle of an apple orchard. It is far from the madding crowd of Himachal’s hill towns (85kms from Shimla). It is suitable for those looking for seclusion, tranquility, nature and the surreal experience of living in an apple orchard.

Day 2

  • Soak yourself in the surroundings of apple orchard in the morning and thereafter visit Hatu Peak.
  • From Hatu Peak you can spot prominent peaks such as Hanuman Tibba and Shrikhand Mahadev from the panoramic view of PirPanjal ranges as well as the Trans-Himalayan ranges.
  • The Hatu Peak houses the famous Hatu Mata Temple. Many believe that the temple is a shrine dedicated to Ravana’s wife, Mandodari. However, there are many legends that link the temple to the era of Mahabharata, saying that the temple was built by the Pandavas during their 13 years long agyaatvaas. Near the temple is a humungous rock formation called “Bheem ka Chulha”, which is considered to be a giant stove that the Pandava warrior, Bheem, constructed in order to cook for his family during their exile.
  • The temple structure is made of wood and stone and is adorned with intricate wooden carvings which display influences from Himachali and Tibetan architecture. This structure is surrounded by dense forests populated by fir, spruce, aspen, maple and cedar tree.
