Tadoba National Park, which is also widely known as, ‘Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve’ (TATR) is one of the oldest and major national parks of Maharashtra. It covers 1727 sq km of vast land space and is one of the famous Tiger reserves near Nagpur. TATR is located at a distance of 150 kms from Nagpur, which lies in Chandrapur district. It was established in the year 1995 by merging ‘Tadoba National Park’ and ‘Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary’ together. It was given its name after local tribal deity “Tadoba” and a river named “Andhari” passing through this area, which is the main water source for the forest.
The jungle is blessed with abundant varieties of natural vegetation and wild animals.
